Treasuries for Planetary Survival: Workshop Takeaways
SNI recently co-organized a workshop, “Treasuries for Planetary Survival”, together with the Institute for Advanced Studies, University of Amsterdam, and Interspecies Money. This event marked the beginning of a needed dialogue aimed at reimagining biodiversity conservation and restoration financing.
We brought together experts from diverse fields, including ecology, technology, data science, law, finance, and art, to critically explore existing and emerging modes of financing global biodiversity conservation efforts. Nuanced considerations and insights emerged from the meeting, which will guide our work in 2024, particularly in monitoring and reporting ecological impact. In an upcoming article, we will share more valuable insights to involve a wider community of academics, builders, and activists interested in these topics.
SNI featured in key Ethereum Conversations at ZuConnect Istanbul

Together with speakers from NEWFORUM, Matters Lab, Funding the Commons, and more, Andrea presented SNI’s work connecting the digital sphere with Planet Earth on the panel “Programmable Attestations Part 1”.
We look forward to continuing these conversations in the Ethereum ecosystem!
Thanks to Funding the Commons, SNI Head of Partnerships and Field Research Alessandro Mazzi participated in several panels as part of the Ethereum Foundation’s Devconnect Week events in Istanbul.
From d:pact organised by Merkezsiz and Paribu Hub to the Funding the Commons pop-up, we showcased our approach to biodiversity impact reporting, contributing insights across discussions for 2024's pivotal trends and advancements in the public goods sector.
